Eng. Francis W. Montanari, AIDIS's distinguished member
June 25th 2009
 It is with much sorrow that I inform you of Eng. Francis W. Montanari passing away on June 25, 2009. We received this sad notice from his family informing that he died at home as a consequence of a recurrent disease, he was 92 years old. We are sure all of you have known Monty throughout the many years he was active in AIDIS. He was among those who created AIDIS and was a founder of the US Chapter, he supported wholeheartedly both groups and was an untiring active member. AIDIS honored him with the designation of "Distinguished Member". For years he was the Editor of AIDIS USA Newsletter until 2006 doing a super job, following, USAIDIS thanked Monty for his efforts recognizing him as "Editor Emeritus". He was always in the forefront of those members who supported the efforts to strengthen the Chapter, an active BOD member concerned with consolidating ties with national and international organizations, expanding its membership and securing funding for program support.
Monty belonged to the group of US engineers who worked throughout Latin America during the decades of the 40ties, 50ties and 60ties wiith the Institute of Interamerican Affairs, a US Government aid agency who supported important programs in health, sanitary engineering and environmental improvement. He was active in the provision of drinking water supplies, sanitation services and in the training of national engineers in many countries including assignments in Brazil, Mexico and Panama. He spoke Portuguese and Spanish. He was well liked and made good friends with those who worked closely with him.

8° Premier Exhibition of Water and Environment Technologies
June 15 to 19 2009
The Ecuadorian Association of Environmental and Sanitary Engineering - AEISA is on charge of one of the most important activities of the Environmental and Sanitary sector in Equador: the 8° Premier Exhibition of Water and Environment Technologies, which will welcome businesses from private and public sector, of all country. It will develop in a joint way The HABITAT 2009 Fair and with the Seminar Workshop water and sewage operators processing Plants, to which will attend professionals of all the country to be informed of the new investigations and technologies of the environmental, sanitary, and hydraulic sector.
From September 8 to 13, 2009, we expect the presence of 30.000 delegates in this ambitious technical program that will be carry out in the prestigious Conventions Center "Simon Bolívar de Guayaquil", a renowned structure in all the Equador and along Latin America and gifted of the most modern equipments. The mornings and noons will be dedicated to the Seminar dictated by professionals of Argentina, Peru, Colombia and Equador, while by nights will be developed the magisterial conferences and roundtables of negotiation.
In such circumstances I remit me to you, to present our cordial INVITATION to participate of this event, which will meet to the main authorities of the country, as well as to large national and foreign expositors that already have compromised their participation in the forums. International Intensive course of graduate on Managerial Tools for the Water management
October 5th to 16th 2009
Argentinian Association of Sanitary Engineering and Sciences of the Environment - AIDISAR, the Department of Hydraulics of the Faculty of Engineering of the University de la Plata, the Argentine Institute of Water Resources and the Department of Hydraulics of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Buenos Aires to request the auspice for intensive International Course of graduate on Managerial Tools for the management of the Water, whose first edition will have Place between October 5th and 16th, 2009.
It given that the compliance of the objective to promote the sustainable development of the water resources, through the integrated management techniques utilization, requires the development of other capacities, the objective of the course is to coach professionals in specific aspects of management, complementing the know-how that are dictated in other courses of the region.

XXVI Center-american Congress
The Inter-american Association of Environmental and Sanitary Engineering - AIDIS, is pleased to invite you to the 26º Center-american Congress and 5º National Sanitary and Environmental Engineering Congress, to be carried out in Guatemala de la Asunción on days November 8th to 11th, 2009. The central theme of the event is "The management of the water resources, tools to face the climatic change and disasters".
The limit reception date for technical works has been expanded to August 28th, 2009.

In the state of São Paulo, Brazil, all the municipalities in the girdle from 3,000 to 50,000 inhabitants are with collection and processing of sewer system in their totality.
Of the 9 Districts com population among 250 to 900 inhabitants already was established sewer system in 5. A forecast to establish exists 4 more for 2010. We are in a region reorganized 100%.
