The objectives of development of the millennium have as goal for the 2015 the reduction halfway of the number of people without access to the drinking water, with the corresponding infrastructures and sanitary services.
In Colombia the National Government formulated in the framework of the national politics "Water for Life" the Departmental Plans of Water and Sanitary for business management of these services.
During the Congress, will be debated themes related to: national politics, framed in the Departmental Plans of Water as a solution to the historic problems of shortage in population's provision; regulation, control and caution.

WOP and ANP & EE Workshops - San Jose
Costa Rica, October 19th to 23rd

 

Dear AIDIS's friends,

It is prepared a series of two members training workshops WOP LAC Program, in San José Costa Rica, in next October. Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th, will have the Workshop on Not Counted Water, with Julian Thornton's team, that is responsible for previous and similar workshops of WOP LAC:
- In Mexico (November 2008);
- in Georgetown, Guyana in May 2009; and will also be participating in the workshops on the same one ANC
- in ABES Congress in Recife (September 2009); and
- in 2 planned workshops for the 1er Semester of 2010 in Guayaquil and Rio.

Between Wednesday 21 and Friday 23, we will have in the sequence a Workshop on Energy Efficiency, with the consultant Pedro Paulo Silva and others; similar to the ones that already had at the same WOP LAC program:
- In CAESB - Brasilia in April-May of 2009;
- in EMAAP - Quito, in May of 2009.
Supporting these two events will be AYA, BID, FOCARD and our AIDIS.
The programs detailed of the two workshops will be available in acouple of weeks, but I wanted immediately sharing this info with you these negotiations, and to invite you to promote as possible a maximum diffusion.
We'll keep you posted on these events evolution.
AIDIS has had an important participation in all these previous workshops and is planning the future ones, thus we take care to maintain this performance that is one of the large assets of our Institution.

Consultancy on the Social Determinants of Neglected and Other Poverty-Related Diseases
PAHO July 10th 2009

 

This Call is an initiative of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), in the context of its Program for the Elimination of Neglected and Other Poverty-Related Diseases. PAHO/WHO Health Surveillance and Disease Prevention and Control Area, Communicable Diseases Project.
 


 “…The purpose of the consultancy is to analyze the social determinants of health associated with neglected infectious diseases (NIDs) (i.e. living conditions, cultural factors, etc.), as well as possible key interventions to mitigate them in order to reduce the burden of selected NIDs that can be targeted through mass drug administration (MDA)—i.e. onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis, schistosomiasis, soil-transmitted helminthiasis, and trachoma—as well as other diseases that could be part of an integrated plan, including Chagas disease, rabies transmitted by dogs, plague, leprosy, leishmaniasis, and congenital syphilis, among others.

VIII Premier Exhibition on Water and Environmental Quality Technology
AEISA

The VIII Premier Exhibition Water and Environment Quality Technologies, organized by the Ecuadorian Association of Environmental and Sanitary Engineering, AEISA, will welcome to the businesses of the private and public sector, of the whole country, in occation of its 34 anniversary, the same one that will be developed in a joint way with the HABITAT Fair 2009.

From September 8th to 13rd 2009, we expect the presence of 30,000 delegates in this ambitious technical program that will be carried out in the prestigious Center of Conventions "Simon Bolívar of Guayaquil", a renowned structure in all the Equador and along Latin America and gifted of the most modern equipments.
The mornings will be dedicated to the Ist Latin-American Forum processing of water and sewage and in afternoons, technical sessions of selected works presentations, commercial and technical conferences, while by nights will developed the magisterial conferences and roundtables of negotiation.
Besides, the conferences at the moment of the lunch will offer the participants large opportunities to be met, to learn and to negotiate.
The Fair of AEISA will be at the same time a point of meeting for corporate incentives and to achieve excellent negotiations.
