AIDIS's visit Fiexpo Latinoamerica
Montevideo, Uruguay

The International Fair of Market of Meetings and Incentives of Latin America was carried out in Montevideo on June 24 and 25, 2009. To explain in few words, this fair search to meet people interested in carry out events (congresses, seminars, courses, etc.) with those that fornecen the elements of infrastructure for these events.
Thus they are marked encounters among the parts and some conferences that the guests attend/participate during the two days. They were you defined the seguintes conferences:

Day 24, 08:30 hours – Brazil as destiny of business, events and incentives, with emphasis on the cities-headquarters of the World Cup in 2014. The presentation was of the Mrs. Maria Katavatis gives EMBRATUR. You go it is the Manager of Promotional Events and Fairs. The presentation was excellent, and so interesting that I conversed with her he splits in the afternoon to converse on the relation ABES – EMBRATUR that, she did not know and showed interest when I spoke on 2012 and the 33° Inter-american Congress (with Headquarters in São Paulo, Brazil). She declared interest in having a more next contact for this event, as well as for a possible one V Inter-american Congress of Quality of the Air. It requested that we seek it to converse and to see the possibility to work as a group.
Day 24, 09:30 hours – Presentation of ICCA – International Congress and Convention Association, performed by the Mrs. Maria José Alvez that is the Regional Director for Latin America of ICCA. Of the same form that the previous one, the presentation was excellent, and after its presentation we mark an interview for the afternoon. Here I consider important to comment that during the interval for the lunch, I was met with the Vice-President to DARE Carla Postiglione and the General Manager to DARE Ing. Danilo Rivers. Where we discuss the execution of an event WOP LAC in Uruguay, as a group with the meeting of the executive board of the same one. They showed interest and, when I commented the chats in the morning, they asked me to mark an interview with Maria José Alvez of ICCA to initiate the negotiations for organize such meeting. This occurred on the 25 of late when I presented the VP to the responsible for the ICCA that called a specialist of their team and the negotiations were initiated.
Specifically in AIDIS case were marked the following:

Day 24:
10:30 in the stand 20 with the Secretary of Tourism and Culture of The Province of Jujuy, Argentina, through the Lic. Nadia Mountain Antar, Organizer of Tourism and Culture; Official Representation Of The Government of Jujuy in Buenos Aires. 11:00 in the same stand with Valeria Jaliquias, Commercial and Managerial Management of the Center of Congresses and Conventions Myrtles, located in Neuquén, Argentina. 11:30 also in the same stand, with the Jumps Convention & Visitors Bureau, located in Jumps, Argentina, represented by Emilio Defferrari and Sebastián Married Satre. 12:00 stand 13, with representatives of Uruguay of the American one Airlines, respectively Adriana Hofmann, you Leave Representative & Sergio Fort, Account Executive. They were shown interested in the activities of AIDIS, chiefly with the 32° Congress of Dominican Republic, where elles possess intinerarios of flights and they passed a relatorio to their headquarters, indicating to enter contact with AIDIS in São Paulo, so much ADIS in Holy Sunday. 12:30 stand 17, with the Alone Convention Center, located in Maldonado, Uruguay, através of the Mr. Mark it Fort and of the Mrs. Maria Emilia Venturino, of the sector of Events & Congresses.
In the afternoon:
15:30 stand 21, with the Dr. Ismael Goes to bed, of the Latu – technological Laboratory gave Uruguay, leader of the Park of Expositions, located in Montevideo. 16:00 with the Mr. Fidel Ferrer, of the Palace of Conventions of Havana, Cuba, that is the Head of the department of Organization and Promotion of The Direction of Fairs and Expositions. 16:30 with the Srs. Robert Schmitz Bräuchle, General Manager and Mr. Gonzalo Lira Cross, Commercial Manager of Casapiedra, Center of Conventions in Santiago, Chile. Was an encounter for surprising Ls and, for my amusing one. They did not expect that were to demand of the price that charged for the Congress of AIDIS last year. When I told them that represented almost the 70% of the value spent with the Congress, "they fell of the horse". They asked to verify next to the local headquarters and that would show me that that was not possible, therefore, in general represents little more than the 35%, not arriving at the 40%. The next day I returned there and the accounts delivered me that had done, with more than the 56%, concluding that was an atypical Congress and that that passed because the other expenses were small and not because the cost of Casapiedra were highly.
Day 25
11:30 was predicted the Gega Multimedios, that I did not consider interesting to visit. 12:00 was predicted the Rosário Convention and Visitor Bureau, where I thought that already I visited others this segment. Instead of these two, I was in the IDRC – International Development Research Center for fimar the ofício directing the proposal of improving the capacity of the localities through the management integrated of the solid residues. Later visit the stand of São Paulo Convention & Visitors Bureau com Ângela Rodrigues Knicker gives Forest that is events collecting analyst with who did I speak on the 32° Pan-american Congress of 2010 and a possible Congress of the Quality of the Air. Also was the organizer of Tourism and Business of São Paulo Tourism. Out of forecast, I conversed with the Cup Airlines, where I had a similar talk to which occurrió with the AA, with the executive of sales Andrea Ferreira. They would be interested in the theme, therefore, out of having flights to Holy Sunday, they have direct flights to Gray Tip. They should enter contato with ADIS and the organization of the Congress and with the Headquarters in São Paulo, where they have an office. They have promotions with 10, 20 ó 30% for exhibitors, and organizers. 12:30 was the time of the stand 22 where I spoke with TAM, with Isabel Urrutia, now on the Congress of ABES in Recife.
13:00 was the meeting with Marcos Capurro that represented Lorraine Teran, from the Bureau of Conventions and incentives of Quito, where I requested that the bureau support the meeting of the WOP in Guayaquil. 15:00 h occurred the previously meeting that organized among DARING and ICCA. I did the introdución of the theme for the Mrs. Maria José Alvez that opted for calling a specialist in entreinamento, as soon as that Carla Postiglioni, Vice-President gives he DARE he explained as they were seeing the situation and their future needs. After the start of the conversations, was passed to detail the phases that should be traveled through so that the event of the WOP LAC could be carried out the first week of December, first alternative, even to be confirmed.
My best regards,

Eng. Isaac Zilberman

World Water Forum 2012 – Country and City Selected
Marsella, France

Madrid, Spain – 19 June 2009 - On Friday, the World Water Council selected Marseille, France as the city and country to host the 2012 World Water Forum. The selection followed a rigorous process for evaluating the candidates and a final vote from the Council’s Board of Governors. The World Water Forum is the world’s largest water gathering that brings together over 20,000 political leaders, NGOs, government officials, water professionals, and scientists every three years. “Thank you for your confidence and for this important challenge you have given us”, said Martine Vassal, Deputy Mayor of Marseille.
In an effort to benefit from the excellent quality of the two final candidatures, France and South Africa, the Governors of the World Water Council suggested that the countries work hand in hand. “Our engagement to host the World Water Forum in 2012 is very strong and we really want to work together to bring solutions to the world’s water challenges,” Vassal continued, stressing the candidates’ will to join forces. Prior to the vote, South Africa and France both had agreed to a partnership for the preparation of the next Forum. As such, when Marseille was selected, it extended an invitation to Durban, South Africa to be a full partner in the years running up to the Forum. “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together”, said one of the participants in the Board, emphasizing the unique opportunity that this partnership entails. After extending his congratulations to France, Kevin Wall, Alternate Governor of the World Water Council representing the South African candidacy, committed the full support of South Africa to the success of the World Water Forum in 2012 in Marseille. “We are very happy to be part of this process and enthusiastic to offer our experience.”
The French candidacy showcased a will to engage people regionally in the global debate around water, but at the same time made it clear that debate is not enough. Through its candidacy, France committed to making the World Water Forum in 2012, “the Forum of Solutions”, drawing from the many concrete successes that France has had in the environmental domain.
The Council’s decision comes three months after the successful 5th World Water Forum that took place in Istanbul (Turkey) in March. During its meeting in Madrid, the Council’s Board of Governors also reviewed the outcomes of this Forum. It commented on the major progress made through the signing of the Istanbul Water Consensus by over 100 cities from around the world. The accord promotes local action to deliver water and sanitation services and manage water resources sustainably. Over 20,000 people from 182 countries participated in the 5th World Water Forum, under which 90 Ministers, 250 Parliamentarians and 300 Mayors.
The Council’s Board committed to put in place a thorough follow-up to the 5th World Water Forum feeding into the preparations of the World Water Forum 2012. In particular, more emphasis will be put on consultations with stakeholders at the (sub) regional level so as to ensure that sound proposals for solutions to the world water crisis are put forward in Marseille in 2012.
The meeting of the World Water Council’s Governors comes as we are at a crossroads in how we use and govern the world’s limited resources. Increasingly citizens and political leaders recognize that water forms a vital element for vibrant economies and healthy societies, and is key to sustain the ecosystems we depend on. Yet, despite growing attention, water resources continue to dwindle and billions still lack access to proper water supply and sanitation.
The Council’s Governors reviewed this situation and discussed the strategic directions for the World Water Council. They expressed a clear need to deepen the dialogue on vital issues such as sanitation and the linkages between water, energy and agricultural production. They also indicated the need to broaden the engagement for water involving a wider variety of stakeholders that depend and impact on water resources. Furthermore, they indicated the need to mobilize further political will, for example to realize the Millennium Development Goals or to adapt to climate change and pro-actively prepare for disasters.
Hosted by its Spanish member organizations and the Canal Isabel II Foundation, the Board finally discussed its General Assembly in October 2009 when the full Council with its over 200 members will meet to agree upon the strategic directions for the years to come.
