Global Water Operator's Partnership Alliance Foundation Meeting
Nairobi, January

Inter-American Sanitary and Environmental Engineering Association (AIDIS) is the host of the Official Secretariat of WOP network of Latin America and Caribbean:
WOP-LAC Net
The past january 29 and 30 of this year under way, was carried out in Nairobi, Kenya the foundation meeting of the "Global Water Operator' s Partnership Alliance" (kind of global union of the African, Latin America & Caribbean and Asian WOPS), known as GWOPA.

AIDIS was represented in this network GWOPA meeting in Nairobi, Kenya, by our new Executive Director Eng. Isaac Zilberman, who exposed a presentation where explains the challenges of the WOP LAC Net and the role that GWOPA should perform.

We have pleasure to report that AIDIS was chosen in Nairobi, in this Meeting, for being one of the 21 members of this company. AIDIS is in a group of 10 members that represent public operators by one side, and the regional WOP by the other, representing the WOP LAC where participates actively since the first meeting of June 2007.

Our mandate will be of 4 years, but in this first opportunity will be able to be reduced to two, therefore in the election of 2011 they go to to be chosen by drawing five of the members of the "A" Group where we could be replaced by new executives.
On the other hand in which concerns the WOP LAC, probably the first meeting of the STEERING will be performed COMMITTEE respective March 17 next in Istanbul, with occasion of the V Water World Forum.
We recall the 10 members of the Steering Committee of WOP LAC, presided by the Mr Marcio Nunes – also president of COPASA-MG-BRAZIL, they are:
COPASA and SABESP from Brazil;
AYSA from Argentina;
ACUEDUCTO DE BOGOTÁ and EPM from Colombia;
AGUAS ANDINAS from Chile;
SANAA from Honduras;
AGUAS Y DRENAJE DE MONTERREY from México;
BID; and
UN HABITAT.

OPS's Director confirm presence at XXXII Interamerican Congress

We are pleased to communicate that OPS's Director, Dr. Mirta Roses Periago confirmed its presence in the next Inter-american AIDIS's congress in its version XXXII.
Doctor Mirta Roses Periago, of argentinian nationality, is surgeon medical, formed in the University of Cordoba in 1969. She graduated in Public Health with specialty in Epidemiology and the title of specialist in Infectious Illnesses of the University of Buenos Aires.
