IIUNAM-AIDIS 6th Result on Scholarship
Sanitary Engineering
The Inter-american Association of Environmental and Sanitary Engineering (AIDIS) and the Independent University of Mexico have an agreement of the "Inter-american Scholarship of the Institute in Environmental Engineering".
The Jury integrated to evaluate the requests received in time and form for opting to Inter-American Scholarship in Environmental Engineering IIUNAM-AIDIS decided unanimously to offer it to Master Diana Carolina Martínez Franco, from Colombia, from Universidad de Antioquia.

AIDIS working in HAITI
Planning HAITI reconstruction
Dear AIDIS colleagues:
On March 24th I left Haiti, I was 5 days there and they were very productive, I tripped under the endorses of the Armed Forces of United Nations of the Command of Guatemalan Army. The commitive was of 5 professionals that were supported by the University of San Carlos de Guatemala, with the purpose to diagnosis the situation with the obejct to transmit learned lessons for future events of this nature. We had various opportunity to travel through places with serious damages and problems of all types that lead to a disaster ta nature. Not Governmental Institutions were visited to exchange information.
Somewhat prominent it is that they had two meetings with members of the Asociaciòn Interamenticana de Ingenierìa Sanitaria de Haiti, AIDISH, emphasizing the presence of its President Eng. FRANTZ BELLEGARDE, Eng. Dwinel Belizaire Treasurer and Dr. Evens Emmanuel member of AIDISH and dean of the faculty de Ingenierìa de la Universidad de Quisqueya, with who mantain a conversation very positive to coordinate the support of AIDIS to HAITI which will be coordinating by AIDISH with endorsement of AIDIS through my person and our president, the Eng. Rafael Dautant.
Sadly AIDISH has remained without office because it was destroyed by the earthquake, besides that their associates and board of directors were seriously affected. For the while is in process to pass files and some office equipment to the house of the president Bellergarde to function provisionally.
AIDISH, is in the best availability to support the work and to coordinate the volunteers that arrive, for now a reuniòn with the Cluster was planned Wash with DINEPA that is the unit to handle the drinking water and clean-up and is coordinating activities with the NGO to quinens incialmente will be done them the proposal of the project and that will be reporting us of the results.
Brigades of 5 or 6 engineers will be being planned for some three weeks which will be substituted so on by the following brigades, with the purpose to give to the project a sustainability of at least 4 or 5 months, depending if the number of volunteers enlarges. For the moment there is approximately 50 volunteers.
The work to carry out in these days is to support projects and programs that are in motion in this period of emergency, with the purpose to obtain information and experiences which will serve so that subsequently we do a global proposal which itself would be working jointly in Dominican Republic in the framework of the XXXII Interamerican Congress in november 2010 in a round table, in order to delivering it to the International Community and the Government of HAITI.
I enclosed photos of business meeting with AIDISH and with UNICEF (Cluster Wash) and a photo in the camp where they gave us the support of the armed forces of the UN in the command of the Military Police of Guatemala in HAITI, who they offered us protection, lodging, diet and logistic support during our stopover in HAITI.

PANAIDIS 60 years aniversary
Forum "El Reto de la Ingeniería Sanitaria y Ambiental Frente al Cambio Climático"
 In the framework of the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of PANAIDIS, will be carried out the Forum: "EL RETO DE LA INGENIERÍA SANITARIA Y AMBIENTAL FRENTE AL CAMBIO CLIMATICO". This event will take place on Friday 30th April, 2010, in the Marriott Hotel in Panama City, from 8am to 12:30pm.
The Forum has as an general objective to discuss the current methods of adaptation to the climatic change that should confront the residents of the Republic of Panama, and that permit the sustainability of the economic development of the country, as a group with the optimization of the management of the natural resources.
