XVIII Chilean Congress on Sanitary and Enviromental Engineering

 El XVIII Congreso será un marco propicio para que profesionales,
académicos, investigadores, autoridades y estudiantes pertenecientes a una
amplia gama de disciplinas relacionadas con el medioambiente, los sectores
de agua y saneamiento, puedan compartir experiencias, conocimientos así como también
analizar y comentar los temas de interés, organizados en torno a las siguientes materias:

1° AIDIS Argentina Central Regional Congress
Success September 22nd to 24th 2009
Between September 22 and 24 it was realized in Cordoba City the above-mentioned Congress with the assistance of 316 people among exposers, assistant, coordinating and invited authorities. The act of inauguration included the participation of the President of the Regulating Entity of public Utilities of the city of Cordoba Dr. Jorge Andrés Saravia, the General Manager of from Cordoba Water Eng. Enrique Sargiotto and the President of AIDIS ARGENTINA Eng. Juan Pablo Schifini, at the end of which the firm Amitech Arg. LTD offered a wine of welcome to all the presents.
Had an special interest and greater assembly of I publish the Seminars on "Ecoeficiencia Energy in Water and Clean-up" and "Technologies for the Removal of Arsenic" and the Round Table on "Algae and Eutrofización of Superficial Water".
11 commercial presentations in charge of the businesses of the sector were carried out and they were recorded 27 póster presenting diverse studies and investigations linked to diverse subject matter of the water and of the sanitary. An especially composed jury for this end, and comprising the Enga. Marta Mountain, the Eng. Mark it Heredia and the Eng. Juan P. Schifini chose the poster rewarded.
Thursday 24 it was the act of closing and the prizes to the better were delivered poster; the Eng. Schifini was directed the assistants with some reflections on the future of the sanitary activity and finally thanked to the patrocinantes, to the engineers. Hector Araujo and Marcelo Heredia of AIDIS ARGENTINA Section Cordoba, to coordinators of tables and disertantes and to all the ones that of an or another way collaborated with this First Regional Congress, proposing to repeat this experience in 2011 in the interior of the country.

Exporesiduos 2009, Colombia ACODAL
2 al 4 de Diciembre 2009
 The Universities of Antioquia and of Medellín, Several Businesses of Medellín and ACODAL carried out in November 9 of 1999, in Medellín, the First Fair and International Seminar of Integral Management of Dangerous and Solid Residues, 21st century, with 40 presentations, 10 conferers international, 120 stands commercial and 900 participants of the academic seminar. Environmental authorities of Antioquia and of the Valley of the Cauca, jointly with the Department of Environment, they carried out in the 2007 and the 2008 the I and II Dangerous Residues Management Congress (RESPEL).

More aprovement on Inter-American 'Water Week'
ABES-RS celebrate in all state
The 9ª State Week of the Water, commemorated simultaneamente with the 16ª Pan-american Week, was respected a success and an advance relating to the previous editions by the increase of the number of participants and of institutions of support. The evaluation is of Nanci Begnini Giugno president of the 'Associação Brasileira of Engenharia Sanitária and Environmental' section Rio Large gave Sul – ABES-RS, (brazilian Chapter of AIDIS Inter-american) organizing institution that this year carried out the event from 3 to 10 of October. With the presence of countless authorities of the Government of the State, of the Municipalities of I Carry Happy and Viamão, where the Week was locked, there was the sensation that exists a great conscience on this well in Rio Large gave Sul. "Awareness represented aqui by the youth, commented Nanci Begnini Giugno.
 The 16a Inter-american Week and 9a State of the Water mobilizó 800 institutions among schools, common associations and governmental organizations and ONGs. They were developed near 1,400 activities as chats, pieces of theater, meetings, walks and presentations on the theme, which had a public reckoned of um milón of people.
The Week of the Water, organized and executed by ABES-RS as a group with the State Secretary of the Environment (SEMA) and clean-up businesses support as Corsan, Comusa of Novo Hamburg, DMAE of I Carry Happy and SAMAE of Caxias gave Sul besides countless institutions like the Prefeitura Municipal de Viamão, Prefeitura Municipal de Porto Alegre, Emater, Batalhão Ambiental da Brigada Militar, Força Verde da Força Sindical, Companhia Estadual de Energia Elétrica (CEEE), Lions Internacional, Rotary Internacional, Associação Riograndense de Imprensa (ARI), NEJRS, ONG Mira-Serra, Quinta da Estância Grande, Centro Estadual de Vigilância em Saúde/RS (CEVS), Fundação Zoobotânica e Fundação Estadual de Proteção Ambiental (Fepam).
